How to extend the validity of a demo account in Saxo Bank
Saxo Bank is one of the most reputable brokers on the market. Their platform SaxoTraderGo allows trading a wide range of instruments as well as options, futures, and swaps. It is by far one of the most advanced trading ecosystems on the market that is available to retail traders. Taking this into consideration one can be surprised that unlike most brokers who offer unlimited demo accounts Saxo Bank demo account will expire in just 20 days. It is hardly enough time to learn the SaxoTraderGo platform, not to speak of testing any strategy in a live environment.
Luckily there is a little hack that allows you to extend your demo account at Saxo Bank. Here is a simple guide on how to do that (you have to use the web version of SaxoTraderGo demo in the following steps https://www.saxotrader.com – once the account is extended you will be able to log in to the desktop and mobile apps too):
1. Wait till the 20th or 21st day of your demo period, so that you can no longer log into SaxoTraderGo (you will get an error or invalid login credentials message when trying to log in).
2. Click the “Forgot password” link.
3. On the following page type in your demo account details (the User-ID can be found in your welcome email).
4. On the next screen you will be prompted to confirm your email address – just follow the instructions on the screen and in the e-mail to change your password.
5. And that’s it – you will get another email informing you that the password was reset and that the demo account was extended for another 20 days. And the best of it – your demo trades will be still there 😀
